The wait for more interdimensional escapades is almost over.  Rick and Morty Season 8 will premiere on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 11:00 PM ET/PT and you can check out the show’s opening credits below.

While specific plot details are still under wraps (because, you know, Rick), some tantalizing clues have been dropped. A brief teaser trailer released in late 2024 offered a hilarious glimpse of Rick auditioning actors, both human and alien, to play the role of Jerry. This quirky scene hinted at a potential shake-up in the Smith household dynamic, even if Rick insists he’ll stay in touch with his potential Jerry replacements.

A more comprehensive trailer, unveiled in April 2025, showcased the signature action-packed and dimension-hopping adventures we’ve come to expect. We see Rick and Morty facing off against what appear to be Christian soldiers over an egg, engaging in a thrilling space chase, and, in a typically bizarre moment, Jerry is seen compulsively eating lettuce. The trailer also teases the return of The Citadel and Space Beth, suggesting that familiar faces and storylines will continue to play a role in Season 8.

Interestingly, there seems to be a focus on bringing the show back to its roots, with promotional material highlighting the Smith family dynamic within their home. The early seasons thrived on the balance between outlandish cosmic adventures and the more grounded (albeit still dysfunctional) family life.
