English Dub Review: The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows “Turf War”

Overview:

An encounter with the chief of the orcs leads Zenos into a three-way standoff in the slums.

Our Take:

Oh boy… I think this might be a record for fastest harem I’ve seen. What I mean by that is he already has six ladies who are fighting over him and there might be a seventh by the beginning of the next episode. There was a female knight who was trying to figure out why all the slum lords were starting to work together. If the people at the bottom of the pyramid start working together instead of fighting each other that could have bad consequences for the upper class.

Now that is a story that’s interesting if not a little cliche. But it’s a story that resonates especially right now but I can give it a pass that we needed to establish the characters at play first. That makes the first episode all the more confusing. Why drop us in when everyone already knows each other? Not only that but I didn’t see this newest character in there at all. Maybe she keeps her distance after whatever happens in the next episode but if I had to bet money I would bet that she joins the harem sooner or later.
