English Dub Review: Teogonia “Lady Jose”

Overview:

Kai travels to Eda Village with Lady Jose, who teaches him about the duty of guardian bearers.

Our Take:

This second episode did a lot for me. Now I’m more excited than I was for a few reasons. Kai ate a whole bunch of godstones on his own, and not only did it heal his wounds, but now he’s also stronger. It also seems like he’s become a guardian bearer now because he has markings on his face like some of the other guys. It seems to have increased his magic power among other things, and now the story has become intriguing because he has a power that “lower” people shouldn’t have.

Another reason is that it seems like Kai might be interested in Lady Jose, and now that he’s got a similar power as her, she might be interested too. The episode ended a little suddenly in my eyes because, as Kai took down one of the demi-humans, the marks appeared on his face. The only one who saw was Jose, and that was where the episode ended. When I looked at this show, it seemed as generic as could be, but so far I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
