English Dub Review: Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night “The Idolized”
Overview
JELEE is on the brink of collapse, and it falls upon Mei and Kiui to pick up the pieces and ensure the group doesn’t disband for good…
Our Take
Mahiru and Kano’s fallout sends JELEE into a hiatus, leaving Kiui and Mei to shoulder the group’s responsibilities in their absence. While Kiui supports the group’s operations, Mei embarks on an unexpected encounter with Mero, an influencer and former idol, which leads to poignant moments of self-discovery and connection. Both characters strive to maintain JELEE’s presence, demonstrating their commitment despite the challenges brought on by the group’s current instability.
While the rest of the proceedings had some small flaws, the raw sincerity shines through the rest of the proceedings, emphasizing the importance of connection and understanding. The characters’ struggles are portrayed with sensitivity, drawing viewers deeper into their journeys.
