Ted Animated Series In Development
One of the biggest streaming hits for Peacock was the TV series adaptation of Seth MacFarlane’s Ted which eventually became the streamer’s most-watched original series. Literally it’s because of this little fact that the series was renewed for a second season as Puck News reports that episodes cost $8 million each (so six episodes gets you almost to $50m which is still less than what both feature films cost) which nearly was the reason why the series almost DIDN’T get renewed. Fortunately, it did and there might be more of Ted on the way.
The article continues to say that a Ted animated series adaptation is nearing a greenlight which would hopefully help put Universal on the fast track in ordering more new original adult animation.
Our Take
One thing Seth MacFarlane definitely knows how to do, produce an animated series. With American Dad and Family Guy under his belt and still ongoing, why not add more to the war chest?

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
