Review: Smiling Friends “Mr. President”

Overview

Pim and Charlie are appointed to help bring a smile to the United States President’s face.

Our Take

It’s an election year so of course the producers of Smiling Friends are going to check in and, while I’m not sure this episode is canon, we should all be very scared as to who is the new President of the United States. Fortunately, we have Mr. Boss, so… In any event, Smiling Friends returns with a hilarious effort coupled complete with whomever the fuck this guy was playing President Jimble.

Mr. Frog becoming the President almost assures we get more Mr. Frog this second season? I really don’t know, Smiling Friends is definitely one of those series you need to pay attention to or you’ll miss a lot because we get a good amount of twists and turns. For a quarter-hour series, Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel make do with a very small canvas with a gag-filled effort that hurts you with laughs. The big reveal with Glep was like watching Steph Curry hit a three and getting nothing but net.

Fuck it, I’ll vote for Mr. Frog this fall as it can’t possibly be any worse than the gaggle of idiots actually running for election this fall.
