English Dub Review: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End “It Would Be Embarrassing When We Met Again”

Overview:

As the first-class mage exam concludes and the test-takers go their separate ways, farewell leads to departure – but the next stage of Frieren’s journey has only just begun.

Our Take:

Now the waiting game begins but at least we have something positive to hang our hat on. There was a “To be continued” after the credits for this episode. Nothing has been confirmed yet but that gives me something to look forward to, I hope it’s not years from now if it does happen because this was one of the best anime I’ve ever watched. I’m not alone in that belief because last I checked this show dethroned Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood as the highest-ranked anime on MAL. FMA has had that honor for a very long time, so it’s stayed up there this long is impressive.

Now the exam is over and for the most part, who you would think would pass did. The funniest part was when we learned that Land, the mage who can clone himself, had been at home sipping tea while his clones took the test. That was the moment Land became my hero, not only did he pass the test by essentially not competing but also managed to rizz up Ubel which is probably the biggest accomplishment.

One of the rewards of becoming a first-class mage was you could ask for a reward of sorts. From what I understood you could ask for any spell you wanted. Fern decided to ask for a spell that made it so she could clean her clothes down to the last stitch. That sounds amazing sure but I think I might ask for more but there’s something that’s so Fern about that spell choice. Now it’s on to the season review for this series which I’m sad to do.
