English Dub Season Review: Goblin Slayer Season Two
Overview:
Goblin Slayer helps train new adventurers, and gets invited to a wedding?!
Our Take:
Outside the first episode of this series Goblin Slayer has settled into your pretty standard fantasy show. There’s a little more focus on goblins sure but other than that it hasn’t been as controversial as most people would lead you to believe. I understand the first episode was a little more graphic than it probably needed to be but given how goblins are often viewed as a “Level 1” starter enemy so it needed to be established that they are a threat.
Having said all of that, I found this season of the series to be pretty average. It wasn’t bad and as a Dungeons and Dragons fan I love all the little references to the popular tabletop game. But I just found myself wanting more, the first season had a lot of really awesome moments. I also can’t speak on too much character growth. I know I might be barking up the wrong tree but I would like to see Goblin Slayer grow at least a little bit, Priestess has been the only character to show any major growth, which was nice but still.
The animation is still top notch and despite how aloof he is Goblin Slayer is interesting when it comes to his battle tactics. I still had a lot fun watching the series I just expected a little more. Ultimately, if you had a good time watching the first season and the movie then you’ll have a good time with this as well. If you are wanting to start this series for the first time then I would say this is not a good jumping on point and you should start from the beginning. I don’t think a third season has been confirmed yet but I will say I hope it does get one.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
