English Dub Review: The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent “The Ceremony”

Overview
Sei is invited to the royal palace for the Holy Saint’s official debut. On top of that, it seems like she must also attend the royal ball…

Our Take

This time around, Sei finds herself thrust into the spotlight with a debut ceremony coinciding with the royal capital’s ball. As the Holy Saint, she reluctantly accepts the obligation to attend, likely accompanied by Albert as her escort. Despite her discomfort, Sei undergoes the process of dressing up for the occasion, acknowledging the necessity of a royal welcome after the previous less-than-ideal apology. Liz and the second prince, Rayne, make appearances to witness Sei in her formal attire since they couldn’t attend the ceremony. Following the debut, the evening ball unfolds, with Albert captivated by Sei’s elegant appearance, leading to some endearing moments marked by shared blushes.

The dance performance by both Knight and Saint is commendable, and temporary substitutions like Johan stepping in for Albert add a dynamic touch to the festivities. And despite Sei’s uncertainty about her feelings, the episode maintains a subjective exploration of potential suitors and party invitations. This episode offers a natural portrayal of Sei’s discomfort with formal events, and her reactions feel genuine. The chemistry between Sei and Albert shines through, especially as they navigate the dance floor together.

Overall, this was an okay episode. Sei didn’t seem like the type of person ready for a formal party so her reactions felt in character. At the very least, She and Albert had some chemistry, and the fact she seemed so out of place at first is probably why their chemistry shined. And her simple yet graceful dress also complimented her personality. Also, the proceedings dropped subtle hints at a potential reverse harem, with numerous dudes emerging, adding intrigue for future episodes and storylines that add depth to the narrative, but that remains to be seen in later episodes/storylines I guess…
