English Dub Review: The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent “The Trading Company”
Overview
Sei greets her second summer in this world. Now that the miasma is under control and she has a bit of free time to do a little exploring…
Our Take
This time around, the Season 2 premiere manages to recapture the essence of the show without resorting to a direct recap. The impactful opening had a vibe reminiscent of a modern “Dungeon-crawling” game full of monsters which help set the tone. From what I recall, Season One was almost two years ago, but from what we the audience can gather. Sei is deeply connected to nature, and channels the power gained in her new world to work at a medicinal plant research institute. But as a side venture, she explores the untapped market of creating and experimenting with cosmetics, recipes, etc.
Aside from that, Sei’s “Saint” status over time earned her the respect of the people, solidifying her role as the savior of the Kingdom of Saluntania. only for the proceedings to later evolve into a “reverse harem” of sorts with various dudes from different backgrounds or kingdoms showing interest in Sei for one reason or another. Yet at the same time, none of this stops Sei’s desire to explore as she embarks on a journey to the port town Morgenhaffen in search of rice, along with the promise of new adventures.
Overall, despite the two-year gap and a somewhat hazy memory of the first season, the potential of what’s to come in Season 2 is a good start. While not necessarily marked by standout moments, the first season. None of the proceedings were dull and managed to maintain its appeal even in small ways. And I look forward to uncovering whatever lies ahead…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
