English Dub Review: Reign of the Seven Spellblades “Noisy Forest”

Overview:

Nanao, Oliver, and Chela venture through the labyrinth, encountering strange creatures and deadly threats.

Our Take:

The animation isn’t a standout by any means but the world-building and characters are just interesting enough to bring a smile to my face. I especially love it when we get the “former enemy now a friend” trope, ever since I saw Vegeta join the Z Fighters in Dragonball Z I’ve been a fan.

Miligan is helping the gang rescue Pete and not only that she is giving them a training run of sorts. When they run into a giant praying mantis creature she decides to step back and watch and only intervene if it seems like they’re in trouble. There came a point where it seemed like they might be but Oliver managed to think one step ahead and get the job done. Miligan now has a bit of interest in Oliver, she thinks his being ordinary is somehow extraordinary. Maybe she’s onto him?
