English Dub Review: Link Click “Hostage”

Overview:

Lu Guang is taken hostage.

Our Take:

Li Tianxi is close to taking a possessed Cheng Xiaoshi with her. That is, until Lu Guang interferes and offers himself up instead. That wasn’t part of the plan, so Qian Jin and his associate have to think of a way to lure Cheng in. This was, however, part of Lu Guang’s plan. His friends just have to figure out where he is.

We also find out that the Li Tianxi that’s involved with this whole thing isn’t the real one. Officers locate the real Li Tianxi and she’s still mute. She also still acts like a child, developmentally-speaking. That just goes to show that this show loves throwing in twists and turns every chance it gets. It might do so a little too much, but it keeps things interesting.

I keep saying it because it keeps happening. Every time this show answers a question, it raises two more. The plot is getting a lot more complicated, which can generally turn me off of a show. That being said, Link Click can keep its complicated plot grounded enough to have everything still make sense.

The fake Li Tianxi’s reveal is pretty surprising and I have a hunch on what actually happened to her and her brother’s parents. I have an idea on what Lu Guang’s plan is too, but I’m not sure if will work out the way he’s hoping. At this point, I can’t expect anything in this show to go the way I’m expecting. Regardless, it manages to stay engaging and I’m still having a blast watching it every week.
