English Dub Review: My Home Hero “The Current Happiness”

Overview:

Tetsuo and Matori remain locked in their fight to the death, both driven by their love for their families. Police come to investigate the noise created by the scuffle. The survivors are left to bury the bodies and bear the weight of their sins.

Our Take:

I wouldn’t go so far as to say this was a bad ending but it was definitely confusing. Matori stabbed himself for some reason and when the police were at the door he didn’t say anything. I thought he was trying to frame Tetsuo or something but I suppose not. It was all just very confusing, it was nice to see Tetsuo and everyone acting like a happy family, after Kasen slapped the shit out of him for not keeping her in the loop that is.

Matori of course died from his wounds, so Tetsuo had to get rid of the body. Instead of doing the same thing he did after Nobuto he buried Matori in the woods. The episode ended with a typhoon coming into town and Tetsuo looked nervous, which leads me to believe that he’s worried the body will be uncovered. It was just an interesting way to end the season and with no follow up season being announced it was a bit unfulfilling.
