English Dub Review: The Legendary Hero is Dead! “Into the Legendary Hero’s Past”

Overview:

Touka awakens in a familiar place—Is it the past? Is it a dream? Whatever it is, he’ll need to solve the mystery before time runs out for him and Yuna!

Our Take:

For a show I had zero expectations for I have to admit that this has become an anime I really look forward to every week. Yes, Touka can be annoying but I think ultimately he has a chivalrous heart. What was really nice was finding out that even though he’s possessing Yuna’s body she can still hear the things that happen. Therefore, she heard that it was actually Touka that saved her, not the legendary hero. I think this is what has made me more interested, not only is romance really on the table now but Yuna and Touka both got some decent character development.

I have to say that the characters are the only thing I’m invested in though which could be a negative. The main plot, if you could say there is one, isn’t that impressive. We got demons and as always demons suck. But beyond that, there really isn’t much of a reason to be invested in that. I just want to see Touka and his friends be alright.
