Watch: Resident Evil: Death Island Trailer Reveals Rebecca, Claire, Chris, Leon and Jill Valentine

With The Super Mario Bros. Movie  doing well with the kiddos over the weekend, it will be interesting to see how Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s upcoming release of Resident Evil: Death Island will go when it releases this Summer 2023 as the media conglomerate handles all international distribution of the new CG-animated film in all territories not named Japan where the movie will see a July 2023 release date.

Usually, when we get animated trailers from Japan they feature no English dialogue but that’s not the case with the drop of the new Resident Evil: Death Island trailer which features Japanese captions but English speaking throughout the hefty near three-minute runtime. Also of interest, the film will see the first-time team-up of Chris and Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Rebecca Chambers, and Jill Valentine, all at the same time. The film takes place in the year 2015, which is after Resident Evil 6 but set before Resident Evil: 7 (which probably spoils who survives this ordeal).

The feature-length is directed by Eiichirō Hasumi and is written by Makoto Fukami.

Synopsis:

“D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.”
