Netflix Renews Big Mouth For Eighth And Final Season ; Human Resources Also To End With Season Two

Netflix has renewed Big Mouth for an eighth and final season. Deadline, who was the first to report the news, is also reporting that spin-off Human Resources will end after the show’s second season, however, characters introduced in THAT series will return during the final seasons of Big Mouth. Big Mouth season season and Human Resources season two are expected to premiere later this year, Big Mouth season eight will commence in 2024.

Producers Brutus Pink is still on an overall deal which was renewed, we exclusively reported that one series coming from that deal, Drainland, is potentially on the way but with the way Netflix has been canceling adult animation left and right these days, who knows?

Big Mouth has experienced cancel culture directives from both conservative and liberal-minded folks. While conservative organizations like the PTC constantly deride the franchise for showcasing sexual explicit content, extreme liberals inspired voice actors like Jenny Slate to depart as the voice of “Missy” in favor of Ayo Edebiri as they clearly voiced frustration at white actors portraying POC characters despite the reverse happening ever more frequently.

From the inventive minds that brought us the award winning adult animation favorite Big Mouth comes the even edgier and adult-ier Human Resources. The spin-off pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the creatures – Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards and many more – that help humans journey through every aspect of life from puberty to parenthood to the twilight years. It quickly becomes clear that though the protagonists are creatures, they have a lot of humanity themselves. Featuring an all-star voice cast— including Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph and David Thewlis reprising their Big Mouth roles as well as Aidy Bryant, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Keke Palmer, and Randall Park among others — Human Resources is not your normal day at the office. The series is co-created and executive produced by Kelly Galuska, Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin.
