Overview:
Critically wounded and trapped within the dungeon’s darkened depths, Bell and Ryu’s adventure is over. Their fight for survival has now begun.
Our Take:
I really don’t see how this is going to go well. I mean… it has to be because of story reasons but both groups are getting absolutely manhandled. It looks like someone is coming to the rescue, but things are looking grim for my boy. I have to say though, as much as I love Ais I wouldn’t be upset if Bell ended up with Ryu. Not likely to happen but it would be pretty cool.
This has always been a solid fantasy series which I feel is lacking in the anime community with the overabundance of isekai out there. But this has gotten to feel a little samey to me. I really like seeing Ais and Bell’s interactions and I don’t think we’ve really got many since the end of the third season. I won’t go so far as to say this anime has been a disappointment lately but it hasn’t been keeping my interest the way it used to. Hopefully, that turns around soon.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
