Adult Swim News: Moral Orel Return Not Happening ; Rick and Morty To Welcome Back A “Familiar” Voice

We don’t know if Justin Roiland will win back his job as the titular voices of his creation, Rick and Morty, but we do know that one familiar voice will be returning to the franchise…kinda.

You may recall that Dan Harmon portrayed Ice-T in the episode “Get Schwifty” where Ice-T helps Rick and Morty write a hit song to combat an invading alien species known as the Cromulons. Eventually, Ice-T morphs into his “true form” and we haven’t seen him since…though that may change.

The REAL Ice-T is teasing that he is slated to “return” to Rick and Morty in some sort of capacity. As who or what? We don’t know just yet, but the seventh season of Rick and Morty is currently in production and is slated to premiere sometime later this year.

Synopsis:

After having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth’s doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn’t as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that’s not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.

Dino Stamatopoulos is in the unfortunate position of having a generational adult animated series under his belt that everybody loves that will probably not come back because the show’s home network won’t bring it back for whatever reason. In this case, it’s the legendary Moral Orel. For years since the franchise’s Adult Swim cancellation he’s been fielding questions on when the hell the show is going to come back regardless of the fact that his studio, Starburns Industries, is doing just fine with a number of other projects.

Hoping to put the issue to bed once-and-for-all, Dino has issued a statement on all of his socials after some idiot pressed the issue in a DM. No, Moral Orel is not coming back anytime soon, here’s what Dino had to say.

Synopsis:

Clay-mation character Orel Puppington is a young boy who constantly deviates from his Protestant upbringing. Though his parents, school coach and Rev. Putty clearly impart their religious values upon him, Orel always misunderstands and for some reason believes that smoking crack is a good thing, euthanasia is OK, and impregnating women with a sperm-filled pastry bag is actually a moral thing to do.

Error happened.
