Report: Frederator Networks Inks Deal With Buzzfeed Labs

 

Buzzfeed Labs has inked a first-look deal with Frederator Networks that will see a number of franchises being developed and produced for longer form adaptations. This includes such series as The Land of Boggs, Good Advice Cupcake, , Weird Helga, and Chikn Nuggit.

This comes shortly after the recently announced infusion of cash that went to Frederator by way of a multi-million dollar deal with Toei for merchandise for some of the company’s big properties. Frederator has a solid history of selling original animated series to Netflix, franchises like Castlevania, Bee and Puppycat, and more on the way shows that the production company has a solid relationship with the biggest streamer in the world, which could lead to some more pickups. Good Advice Cupcake was previously in development with Facebook Watch.
