English Dub Review: Spy x Family “Yor’s Kitchen/ The Informant’s Great Romance”

Overview:

Why has Yor come home late every night, her hands covered in cuts? Why has Franky asked Loid to meet him under mysterious and urgent circumstances? These are two tales of misadventure while seeking happiness in Berlint.

Our Take:
I was a bit worried that either Yor was sneaking around behind Loid’s back or maybe there was something going on with her assassin job. But in typical Spy x Family fashion it was something tame and completely normal. Yor is afraid that Loid will divorce her unless she learns to cook because the last time she cooked Loid was in the bathroom all day (Even though we know that was just a cover to do his spy stuff).
Luckily, Yor’s friend from work isn’t as bitchy as she seems and will give her some cooking lessons. Unfortunately for her and everyone involved Yor’s cooking is practically deadly. So they bring in a taster who is used to her food, her brother Yuri. He is such a siscon that he can’t give unbiased opinions. What happens after this was one of the most heartwarming scenes I have seen in this show for a while which is saying something.
As another aside, Franky was trying to get Loid’s help in asking a girl out and dating advice in general. But he got shot down and Loid had to spend some time with him as friends do when they’re down. It was nice to see Loid decide to be a friend to Franky.
