English Dub Review: My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World! “My Isekai Life”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Yuji may be strong, but he can’t fight the enemy and defend all the towns at once. If he wants to win, he needs to place his trust in all the friends he made along the way.
Our Take:
Yuji faced down a few bosses that looked tough at first but were actually pretty easy regarding his immense power. However, the season one finale shows that the strongest sage may have met his match. His final boss of the first season is Sage, the original emissary who’s as powerful as Yuji. The finale continues this epic showdown with Sage attempting to provide Salvation by destroying the world.
Sage sends raining Dragon Grace everywhere in the land, infecting the monsters. The monsters then attack the nearby villages, but the adventurers and citizens aren’t willing to go down with their homes that easily. So everyone in Phastan, Kilia, Ricaardo, and Boginia rises to defend their homes, giving Yuji a chance to destroy Sage with Divine magic and the Dagger of Kethis.
“My Isekai Life” brings Yuji’s character arc full circle when he finally learns to trust others to help him, even though they don’t know his true potential. Aside from his assistance with his tamed monsters, Yuji always works alone and refuses help from everyone, especially in his previous life as a Salaryman. However, his battle against Sage has Yuji believing that asking others for help is his greatest power, not just his skills.
The execution of its story and message doesn’t help elevate the show’s seasonal plot, which could be better based on its concept. However, the finale offers enough moments in its action to close off its first season. There’s no doubt that a second season is possible, as the remaining Blue Moon cultists are planning on using the Purifier to destroy the world and the Black Dragon of Judgement. More importantly, everyone finally realizes Yuji is the hero responsible for defeating the dragons and Sage, meaning he’ll have to get used to being well-known in the next season.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
