English Dub Review: The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! “The Landlord Can’t Come Home…”

Overview:

As always, Jahy can only paint herself in a positive light to Druj, so she ends up telling her that she’s found and defeated the Magical Girl. On top of that, the landlord has gotten into a fight with her sister and moves into Jahy’s room. Having her around is a major pain, but Jahy can’t seem to get her to leave. The landlord does offer to do some chores, but she’s even more useless than Jahy imagined!

Our Take:

A lot to unpack in this episode, so much happened! Jahy decided to take a run at gardening thinking that would solve her food problem. It would be if she chose the right foods but also is it just me or did those vegetables grow awfully fast? She thought she was growing tomatoes but they were spicy so I am guessing she grew some sort of pepper but I think she will still be grateful to have them. In other news, the landlord came to stay with Jahy because she and her sister got into a fight. Now I don’t know about you but if my landlord wanted to stay with me and they offered me to not have to pay rent then I would take that deal 10/10 times.

The biggest development of the episode was something that happened in the last few seconds though. Jahy said she needs to get stronger and more magical crystals for the dark lord, and at that time they showed a new character. I’m no fortune teller but my money is on this new character being the dark lord. Though why does she also look like a kid? Just a little weird but I am sure we will get more answers in the episodes to come. More importantly, I am excited to see who voices her. This anime continues to be fun albeit forgettable comedy.
