English Dub Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! “The Hero Helps the Devil Reequip His Workplace”

With Ohguro’s new and improved look, business is booming! In fact, there are more customers than Maou and his team can handle alone. And at night, there are ominous shadows in the fog…

Our Take:

At this point, Emi and Maou are basically a married couple. One thing I have never commented on is how funny Emi’s full name is, the same with Maou. Her name is Emi Yusa, to say “hero” in Japanese is usually the word “Yuusha” which sounds an awful lot like her name. Maou in Japanese has a few more meanings but essentially means “demon”, I love little puns like this. Now back to the beach!

Amane needs help with the shop! It’s so busy that Maou and everyone can barely keep up. But like a good wife Emi steps in and helps everyone out by renting a shaved ice machine. Chiho was there as well as some of the other ladies but as you’ve learned I am pro-Emi. But weird things are happening besides the crazy business. Things are appearing in the fog, one of which used to be a follower of Maou and he says something is off about Amane. This episode was one of the weaker ones but I think it’s leading to some interesting developments.
