English Dub Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! “The Devil and the Hero Rise Up to Defend the Sasakis”
Overview:
Thieves and demons and bears, oh my!
Our Take:
Well, I thought the bear was going to be a bigger deal than it was because they would be trying to hide their powers. But Emi decided to say screw that and just suplexed it into the dirt. Some of the Sasaki’s saw and I thought it was going to be a problem but he was just grateful they saved his family.
What was a little harder to follow was how they realized that there were people trying to steal from the Sasaki’s. But because of how awesome Granny Sasaki was they handled the issue relatively well. They made it safely back to Tokyo without incident and Emi seems to be worried about how Maou could transform how he did. Also, she seemingly forgot who her mother is. Seems weird to me but I think it will be an interesting next arc. This one was okay but the highlight was definitely Emi wrestling a bear.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
