English Dub Review: Orient “The Obsidian Goddess”

Overview:

Shiro offers to help Musashi overcome his difficulties with Kitetsu Blades and get stronger, but can he be trusted?

Our Take:

This episode had all the feels. Maybe it’s just because of how I’m feeling right now but I really felt for Musashi in this one. We all just want to be needed and feel like we have a purpose. Sometimes that leads us to do some crappy things to people that don’t deserve it. But hopefully, Musashi has learned from those mistakes and will come out of this stronger. The fact that Shiro wants to turn him into a sword because of the black crystals is kind of interesting though.

I was wondering what Musashi might have done to Kojiro and his father in the past. It was hinted at that it was something that caused a bit of a falling out. The look on Kojiro’s father after Musashi threw a rock at him was heartbreaking. I’m pretty sure that he’s dead now but I hope that Musashi got a chance to make amends, or perhaps that’s what he is working towards now. I hope we get more background on both Musashi and Kojiro.
