English Dub Review: RUMBLE GARANNDOLL “I Want to Believe in You (This Time)!”
Overview
As the situation gets dire, Munakata convinces Kudo Hosomichi to betray Arahabaki and steal the Garanndoll. Hosomichi leaves behind three angry battery girls. Just in case, General Tanaka and the rest of Arahabaki prepare a new battery for their pilot’s return…
Our Take
Despite a demoralizing reveal that Kudo told Rin about Zaburn and his father, she finds something that proves that she and Kudo share the same passion on a subconscious level. The fact he was customizing his model to be red like Zaburn would’ve been a new redesign for the un-released second season. Risking her identity, Rin gets into her pilot suit and persuades Kudo to come back through Misa’s broadcast hijacking.
Also, while General Tanaka is Older than she looks, she and Balzac have a trump card which is to launch the revolver battery upgrade from a roller coaster system at the Garanndoll since Kudo can’t get back in time and is willing to roll the dice in battle. And where do I even fucking begin with the character Munakata? The debt collector throughout this episode says some really stupid shit and then pulls a last-minute Han Solo-like moment that assumes the audience will just actually instantly like him? I’m sorry but he needs to do more in this damn show if he wants to get in the good graces of everyone to redeem himself…
This episode felt a bit rough. Especially the end where we had a bunch of repeating frames, awkward action, and long stills with off-screen dialogue. But at the very least, the episode still did its job in getting us hyped for the final battle, and I can’t wait to see the Garanndoll fighting at full power and switching between all three battery girls next week. I have a good feeling that the final battle will live up to the hype.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
