English Dub Review: How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom “Seeing Snake Shadows in Every Cup”
Overview:
Weathering a number of problems, Souma more or less finishes dealing with the aftermath of the war. However, he was set upon by inexplicable anxiety, the distress and pressure only felt by those in authority…
Our Take:
So close, I mean we were so close to perfection. The only thing that held this episode back was the seemingly forced fanservice at the end even if it did make some sense. After the trial, Souma was having a tough time. So Liscia and Aisha decided to do what only they could do to comfort him. Besides being a little sexist it was also kind of predictable. Luckily, I think they just lay in bed and talked. Not that I’m against sex in anime but time and place for this type of show ya know?
I know I’ve mentioned it before but the political maneuvering in this show is always so good. I was actually surprised by some of the events that transpired in this one. We finally got to see what Souma and Hakuya were talking about as their “ruthless act”, I was wondering if we had already seen it. It really was cold-blooded and pretty awesome to witness. One of the best episodes yet.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
