Jeff Dunham Scores Huge Ratings For Comedy Central In Yet Another High Scoring Pandemic Special For The Network
I gotta tell ya, Comedy Central may not want the pandemic to ever end with the way their ratings have been going. Earlier this year, South Park scored huge in the numbers with it’s “The Pandemic Special” and now Jeff Dunham’s pandemic flavored new hour entitled Jeff Dunham’s Completely Unrehearsed Last-Minute Pandemic Holiday Special is getting the business as well.
Deadline is reporting that the hilarious new special garnered 1.8 million viewers for the premiere, and a total of 4.2 million viewers during the constant re-airings the network has done since which is making that three special deal that Comedy Central signed with Jeff look a lot more salivating. This special makes it the second-most watched cable event of the year behind only the aforementioned South Park one that came this past fall.
Two more specials are expected to drop in 2021 and they can’t get here soon enough!
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
