Review: Ducktales “The Forbidden Fountain of the Foreverglades!”
Overview
Scrooge and Goldie O’Gilt (Allison Janney) are turned into teenagers as they race Rockerduck to the Fountain of Youth, while the boys’ sibling rivalry uncovers danger at a spring break hotel run by a shady owner (Nester Carbonell).
Our Take
As the female “foil” to Scrooge, Goldie has had a long track record of being the longtime rival/possible love interest to Scrooge since the beginning of the show itself, and much like Fujiko Mine from Lupin III and Catwoman, Goldie often walks that line with her “independent woman” shtick. So it makes sense that she’d want to be part of this adventure much to Scrooge’s dismay.
I also like that when they do make contact with the fountain there’s a visual change represented through their teenage selves. On the subject of Teens, there is an unraveling mystery that looms within the Hotel itself mostly told through the lens of Huey, Dewey, and Louie, but the danger mostly surrounds the shady nature of the hotel owner Ponce De Leon (Nester Carbonell) with a sinister secret of his own, But as a whole, it had a decent plot twist when both subplots converged, into something with a meaningful conclusion that will hopefully be touched upon in later episodes.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
