“The Simpsons” In The News: Poster For Sunday’s Episode, Hank Azaria Talks “Apu”, And Disney+ In The UK
It’s sounding more and more like The Simpsons will not be available at launch for Disney+ in the UK which is happening March 23rd. This is as a result of Sky and Channel 4 already having the UK broadcast rights to the longest running animated series in primetime. Here in America, Disney+ has 30 seasons of The Simpsons which helped the streaming service get to 23 million subscribers in it’s only quarter.
In the meantime, a new episode of The Simpsons is set to air this Sunday Night @ 8 pm ET/PT entitled “Bart the Bad Guy“. In the upcoming episode, Bart accidentally sees a new superhero movie a month before it comes out — and the world cowers before his newfound plot-spoiling powers. You can see a new-released poster celebrating the upcoming episode below.
“Once I realized that that was the way this character was thought of, I just didn’t want to participate in it anymore,” Azaria said. “It just didn’t feel right.”
The not-very-good documentary The Problem with Apu helped kick off the debate as to whether or not the character of “Apu” is parody or a racial stereotype. Proponents on both sides of the aisle have come forward with opposing views, but ultimately, the decision lies with those who are in charge. In this case, it’s Hank and the producers of The Simpsons.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
