English Dub Review: Fairy Gone “Freed Sky-Joined Hands”

(Possible Spoilers Below)

As Marlya and Veronica actively pursue the Divine Beast by Working together. Free and Wolfran are able to kill Griff but Wolfran is wounded in the fight. As Free goes on ahead to confront the Divine Beast, Wolfran finally comes to terms with the loss of his family, While it cuts back to Marlya and Veronica as they make a valiant effort to attack the creature, but it isn’t without casualties as Veronica is impaled and mortally wounded in the attempt.

It’s an emotional scene when Veronica thanks Maryla for still sticking with her after all this time and saves Marlya’s ass before being turned to dust. In a last-ditch effort, Veronica’s Fairy then possesses Marlya and fuses with her own Fairy. Free then arrives and manages to wound the Divine Beast, allowing Marlya to use her new Fairy to enter the Divine Beast and destroy its “Fairy Organ” from within, finally killing it and achieving victory.

In a time-skip that takes place Three months later, Rondacia has begun reconstruction efforts to repair the damage the Divine Beast caused. As we see several loose-ends tied up with many of the supporting characters, the heart of this time-skip is what’s become of Marlya as she visits Veronica’s grave at the ruins of Suna and promises to continue doing good by being an ambassador between human and fairy-relations. She then leaves with Free, who reminds her that they still have a lot of work to do to realize their dream of seeing a future where Fairies are free individuals that are no longer be weaponized.

Our Take

We’ve finally reached the end of this series. It was a brave move of Veronica to sacrifice herself like that, but it gave Marlya a much stronger fairy, Blood Daughter, to use and her team work with Free when they battled the divine beast was pretty good. Plus points for using the first season’s OP song during the fight.

Overall, the story got more interesting, the animation was more fluid and slightly better in terms of the character development for some of the main cast was engaging, but not for others, though. It was a decent ending even though it’s a little cliche. Veronica didn’t deserve to die, Free killed the Divine Beast with a lot of easy, which almost destroyed the emotional impact of Veronica’s death, but I think the purpose was to leave something positive behind for Marlya to give her a sense of purpose.

I can’t see how they could possibly continue this as everything feels so self-contained now, but good on them if they do.

Error happened.
