NYCC 2019 “My Hero Academia” Season Four Panel Recap

A menagerie of clips from season four was exclusively shown at the My Hero Academia panel at NYCC on Friday (and then promptly posted everywhere.) You can watch and experience the magic below.

The panel consisted of a bunch of English voice actors: Justin Briner (Deku), Kellen Goff (Overhaul), Ricco Fajardo (Lemillion), Colleen Clinkenbeard (Yaoyorozu), and Justin Cook (Kirishima) were all present. They spoke about their experience getting roles, emotional scenes, their relationship as actors, and vocalizing about expectations for season four.

“It’s amazing, this season is definitely a lot more intense. All Might has passed the torch, so to speak, much sooner than expected, so…gosh, we’re gonna see him grow and try to meet all these expectations,” Briner spoke in regards to Deku’s role in the series, now that “all eyes are on him” as a potential symbol of peace. The panel was tight lipped when it came to spoilers, but was open-hearted when it came to how much every actor loves their character.

“It’s so hard to pick a favorite moment,” Clinkenbeard admitted. “The show is so amazing. The show is so perfect, in exactly what it’s trying to do […] I think for messaging, I want you guys to know that we are going to be really good shepherds of this brand. We want you to get My Hero Academia as it’s coming out in Japan, and to have the same feeling that they have as they’re watching it in Japan.”
