“Deadpool” Cartoon Coming “Soon” Says Comic Creator, But That Might Not Be A Good Thing

Will it happen?

Deadpool comics creator Rob Liefield is teasing the possibility of an animated series adaptation of his iconic character is coming sooner rather than later. Whether or not this means 1) Disney has reversed course on it’s initial cancellation or 2) We’re just adding another character to the kid-friendly Deadpool pipeline, remains to be seen. Personally, I would much rather the former, because the Disney-Marvel animated television isn’t getting any better at the moment.

For those that don’t recall, there was a Deadpool adult animated series in development for FXX last year with ten episodes ordered and Emmy winner Donald Glover attached to write, produce, and voice the lead character. Instead, rumor has it, that Disney was upset about a one-liner directed at Taylor Swift that could’ve had negative ramifications on both the Disney princesses that they sell a lot of content to or of Taylor Swift never going to another ABC-produced music awards show ever. In any case, the series was cancelled and Donald had even tweeted out a screenshot of the script that Titmouse was rumored to be attached to produce. We may not ever know what could have been.
