“Black Dynamite” Animated Series Producers Pitching To Networks For Season 3

Producer Carl Jones dropped a line on Christmas Eve that he’s been working hard on pitching the Black Dynamite animated series to numerous TV networks, but no go just yet. For those that don’t know, Black Dynamite was an Adult Swim animated series inspired by the blaxploitation film of the same name and featured the movie’s entire cast for the animated series. The series ran for two excellent seasons before being canceled by the network.
Since the cancellation of the series, it’s not like Jones hasn’t been busy. Since then, he’s produced the likes of Legends of Chamberlain Heights, The Jellies, and the upcoming Lazur Wulf series. But, Black Dynamite is definitely Carl Jones’ best work, and routinely made our top 10 of the year lists. A third season of Black Dynamite announced next year would be big news.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
