Everything You Need To Know About Cartoon Network’s “Unikitty” Series

And there’s a lot.

Cartoon Network is readying a 2018 premiere for its The Lego Movie spin-off, Unikitty, but before then, we’ve been getting holiday shorts including a new one that will air this Friday Night @ 7pm ET/PT, check your local listing. So, to help get you kids ready, we decided to give you the rundown of what the hell this show is about and why you may wanna start watching it.

As ruler of the kingdom, Unikitty has busy days full of royal responsibilities. Unikitty is most interested in making sure everyone is happy and ridding the kingdom of negativity, but don’t misunderstand her optimism – she is one kitty not to be crossed. While she may be full of boundless energy and creativity, Unikitty is a force to be reckoned with if anyone gets in the way of spreading her positive vibes, especially if anyone makes her little brother and best friend, Puppycorn, sad. Also living in the castle are Dr. Fox, the resident scientist, and Unikitty’s trusty bodyguard, Hawkodile. Through it all, Unikitty and her friends make sure that every day is the happiest and most creative ever.

Fans of Mondo Media’s Dick Figures will be excited to learn that a bunch of the producers for that series are behind Unikitty. For example, Dick Figures co-creator Ed Skudder actually developed the show with Lynn Wang (Dogsnack) and Nick Keller, who used to do all of the Dick Figures music is the musical composer for Unikitty. And oh shit, Babymetal is doing the opening theme song.

Unikitty! features veteran voice actors Tara Strong (Teen Titans Go!) and Grey Griffin (Be Cool Scooby-Doo!) along with Kate Micucci (Be Cool Scooby-Doo!), Roger Craig Smith (Regular Show), Eric Bauza (The Adventures of Puss in Boots) and H. Michael Croner (Review).

This Friday’s Unikitty short will be entitled “No Day Like Snow Day” and this episode will air as the third and final sneak peek and the series’ first Christmas special before the series premiere in January.
