English Dub Review: Interviews with Monster Girls “Succubus-san is a Real Adult”
Some of this I can get behind…
Spoilers Below
This episode is kind of two-fold. To kick things off we learn more about Sakie and her depressing work/personal life which pretty much reads like a Groundhog Day type-deal. Turns out, she has a thing for Tetsuo, but is a succubus that is unable to get close to anyone otherwise they get really turned on for her. Sakie befriends Kyoko who also is attracted to Tetsuo, but she has to carry her head around all day long and that’s still fucking weird after a few episodes.
The second part of the episode revolves around Tetsuo continuing his interviewing Hikari and learning all about the sexual tendencies of a vampire. Then, Tetsuo runs into a clearly upset Yuki who is in the hallway upset because she overheard girls saying somewhat demeaning things about her as we fade to black.
Our Take
This week was one of the better episodes of the season. I kinda like the dichotomy that presents itself when we aren’t solely focusing on Tetsuo and his moronic interviews. Sakie is a far more compelling character, and I hope we can spend more time with her as time goes on. Kyoko is still kind of annoying, as is most of the student body. But, there are definitely people in this world that can relate to Sakie in a lot of different ways that are more than metaphysical.
SCORE
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
