Vimeo to launch consumer-facing subscription service
Yaaa, add another one.
With the death of free Youtube animation, I’ve noticed that a lot of producers of independent animation have turned to Vimeo as the distribution model given that, from the get-go, the service allowed for producers of animation to charge for their releases if need be in exchange for a fee.
Enter this recent announcement, that Vimeo will soon be offering a subscription service, which could be even MORE of a boon to the independent community. Imagine having the power to release your own creation without much in the way in terms of dealing with agents and whatnot. The trade-off is you would want your production crowd-sourced, as I don’t think you’d be making a TON of money from this model but you do get published works to add to your resume.

UPDATE: Vimeo is NOT going forward with sub service according to Variety
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
