Review: Future-Worm “The Bleak Shall Inherit the Earth / Makin’ History / Lobster Boy Movie Trailer”
Let’s make history…AND LOBSTER BOY!
Spoilers Below
“The Bleak Shall Inherit the Earth”
Ex-Titanium White band mate Mr. Bleaker is here to teach the class all about how his band mates kicked his ass out of the band. Danny wants to get the guy’s autograph, but so does Chad whom is kinda a dick but talks a good game when it comes to Titanium White. Danny decides to go back in time, but Bleaker tags along, which causes a disruption in the time vortex.
Danny transports himself to an alternate dimension where Mr. Bleaker is the biggest solo act ever which is awesome, but Fyootch and Danny have to go find the band to get Mr. Bleaker away from his crazy reality. They do just that at a Chuck E Cheese-esque establishment and convince the band to head back to one of Bleaker’s shitty solo shows. The band gets shrunk, but Danny is able to get Bleaker back to a time when he’s a teacher and Chad gets a new present.
Danny and Fyootch head back to a planet inhabited by Lobster people and brings back a dude named “Lobster Boy”. At first, his visit was only supposed to be temporary, but Lobster Boy really likes Danny’s world, especially FOOTBALL! Lobster Boy decides to take part in the school’s team, but the Coach isn’t biting. To help “LB” get ready for the team, he decides to study up on the game of football like it’s no one’s business so much so that he gets on the team as the STAR quarterback. It doesn’t take long before a trailer for Lobster Boy’s movie is released…
…like THIS fast. Learn the heavily Hollywood-ized tale of how Lobster Boy became the star QB of the school’s football team. We come to find out that Lobster Boy loses everything when people find out that he’s in fact a lobster. And don’t forget “Battle for the Solar System”
Our Take
I was sad to see Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll get canceled by FXX because I love rock and roll shit like this. Wanna know what it’s like to be in a band? This week’s episode of Future-Worm does a pretty legit job of showing exactly that, especially with the 80s bands. Jeff Ross was a hilarious Mr. Bleaker, not sure I could’ve picked anyone else, but Josh Brener’s character “Chad” was really only in the episode for like two minutes which doesn’t do enough to establish any sort of rivalry between Danny and him.
I LOVE Lobster Boy, and I hope he’s a semi-permanent character because he adds a dash of spice to the show. Voiced by the always reliable Will Friedle, Lobster Boy is introduced in this episode and helps setup one of the funniest shorts I’ve seen in a long time on Disney XD…
WOW! It’s short, but it works and is hilarious. I want the football movie AND the space adventure, please.
