Review: The Venture Bros. – “Rapacity In Blue”

Tonight’s episode of The Venture Bros. is worth watching if only to hear the two best lines of the entire season so far. Dr. Venture has the honor of uttering these instant classics “God gas? I’m chubbin up already” and “Stick your finger in my ear and tickle my brain, reach right up my ass and grab my heart”. There are many more reasons to check out this weeks episode but I’m still laughing at those two jokes.

Last week we got to see Hank get the girl but this week it’s Brock’s turn. We already knew he had the hots for Warriana, the Wonder Woman Amazon type character, from the Crusaders Action League, so it’s no surprise when sparks fly when they meet again. Brock shows up at her door and does his best “Hulk smash” with the doorman to get her attention. After she opens the door, it is like they say, on like Donkey Kong.

This biggest plot development is that The Monarch has decided it might be a good idea to embrace his fathers legacy and become the Blue Morpho. Is he actually going to become a good guy or is this just another crazy Monarch scheme? And what about the original Blue Morpho, was he really a good guy or have we been mislead? You’ll just have to watch to find out.

The writers have a great knack for bouncing back and forth without disrupting the flow of the show. I love the rapid fire pace The Adventure Bros. is always able to pull off. Never a dull moment if you will.
