BUBBLE CAN Review: Knuckleheads “Pilot”

While a ton of other shows are in reruns tonight, a new show called Knuckleheads swooped in and delivered with it’s series premiere. The show is a buddy-cop comedy with a unique animation style. Every character  features oddly realistic facial expressions. A feature that will be cool to see utilized in a show where detecting lies will be key to solving the crime of the week.

In the series premiere of “Knuckleheads” bizarre crimes surface when a lunatic attacks several men and gives them breast implants.

As far as series premieres go, Knuckleheads pretty much knocked it out of the park. With a unique animation style and clever writing, Knuckleheads brings the buddy-cop concept to the small screen in an exciting way. The show originally aired in French but was translated into English, much like Adult Swim Canada’s other show, Two Nuts and a Richard. French Canada has given us raunchy comedy in the past and Knuckleheads isn’t any different. The plot of the very first episode is a case about a guy who gives other dudes breast implants. It doesn’t get much more raunchy than that.

The writing is another strength of the show. The comedic timing is well done, most jokes seem to hit their mark.

Overall, this was an impressive start for Knuckleheads. Probably my favorite premiere from Adult Swim Canada yet. There aren’t really any notable negatives about the show. It’s a fun and clever half hour with a few dim witted cops trying to solve a crazy case. There is a fun element of mystery to the show and the characters are all extremely entertaining. Not a bad debut at all for Knuckleheads. Definitely check this show out.
