Review: We Bare Bears “Pet Shop”
Spoilers Below
We head to a time when the baby bears once lived in a pet shop begging to be sold to bad-ass owners. Fortunately, after donning disguises and being part of a commercial, the boys all get adopted by different families even when it looks like that they would be thrown away like trash.
The bears don’t even make it home before realizing that they already miss each other and being split up isn’t the way to be bear bros. As a result, the three reunite, and carry on their merry way.
Our Take
By far and away, the baby bears are better than the big bears. That’s not even saying the big bears are bad, but the baby bears are the best thing on Cartoon Network. For starters they are a bunch cuter as babies. Ice Bear doesn’t even talk, and both Grizz and Pan-Pan remind me of the days when the actors in The Amazing World of Gumball were actually good.
The mix of emotions that cascades over you as you spend most of the episode rooting for the bears hoping that they would get adopted (and loving the journey to getting there) only to have your heart stop when you realize these guys shouldn’t be apart for more than 10 seconds.
I don’t think there is a show on Cartoon Network that carries the heart that the baby bears have. And quite frankly, a bunch more of the baby bears should be on the way, with other networks taking note of what we have here.
