Review: Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero “Save the Worlds”
Spoilers Below
Rippen might officially be the most collossal dick of a villain after he busts up Phyllis’ theater which causes a bunch of vortexes to open up in different universes. Penn, gang, Rippen/Larry, and guest stars have to travel to different multi-verses and close up black holes so that they don’t destroy the world. As the rather large crew is coming close to finishing up their job, Rippen pulls a fast one and tricks Penn into one of the vortexes right before it closes.
The rest of Penn’s crew are able to get into the vortex and save Penn before it’s too late, and continue on their path in closing all of the vortexes all the while meeting a bunch of guest stars from the past. Penn and crew return home with Penn now holding a crystal that is in fact a key that could be important in bringing back Zero’s parents.
Our Take
At first I was a little leery about an episode that more or less was a greatest hits of past episodes due to the fact that we actually revisited a couple of these worlds already, but I found myself enjoying all of the various trips down memory lane. As a matter of fact, the ending very well could’ve been worth the price of admission all by itself because now it hooks me in for season two, no questions asked. The producers of this series have done a fabulous job in crafting a world and an over-arcing premise that despite 20 plus episodes is still valid and important. We’ll do a deeper dive into this for the season review, but Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero is a show that got better to near awesome as time went on, and season two can’t come fast enough for me.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
