These FCC Complaints about Adult Swim Programming are Absolutely (and Unintentionally) Hysterical
One of the greatest things in this blue-and-green blob we call Planet Earth, is when people unintentionally end up sounding hilarious whilst being completely earnest. Case in point: this list of Adult Swim-related complaints to the FCC over the last three years.
The attached document was requested by Redditor Trill-I-Am, who is brilliant just for coming up with the idea. I usually try to make with the ha-ha in my articles, but I really don’t want to take attention away from the comedic gold contained within. Besides, I don’t need to sell anybody on this. If you can get off on people’s overly-sensitive, probably religious-based complaints – along with their own summaries of the offending material – you’ll know.
But I suppose if you’re simply too lazy to click this link, here are a few of my favorites:
Re: Mr. Pickles –
“I don’t know how the hell this show slipped past you guys, but this is absolutely sick. If Adult Swim were a standalone Channel that would be one thing, but this is a kids network!!! Oh my God!”
Re: Black Jesus –
“This program is very offensive, inappropriate to the Christian faith I can’t believe that they have a man living in the hood smoking weed, cursing, partying, drinking alcohol calling himself Jesus. If any one knows that this is truly BLASPHEMY!!!!! This show is previewing on cartoon net-work channel allowing our children to know that it is on the air. But it turns into an adult swim channel after eight I don’t care what any is saying this is a trap for our children and a insult to the Christian Faith. Please help take this trashy show off the air.”
Re: The Boondocks (Although the first part of this complaint deals with TBS’s Sullivan & Son. Seriously.) –
“I find it offensive one of the characters said the word shit. I don’t want my child hearing or saying that or other curse words. I have heard the word bitch on tv for a few years and I felt that was very wrong. Would you want your children repeating those words? This isn’t an attack on the show, I have heard the language on other networks too. Another term on adult swim’s show the boondocks, the word n***r [Ed. Note: He actually said it!] was used. Yet another word my child shouldn’t repeat. Media is very impressional on children, please reconsider these words being used on tv.”
Re: Metalocalypse –
“Within the first minute of viewing I was subjected to scenes of drug paraphernalia, urinating on cave art, and simulated masturbation at the grave site of Bozo the Clown.”
Re: Black Dynamite –
“The commercial for the upcoming show Black Dynamite has offended me in several ways. First, in the commercial, it shows a mans penis. Second, it is racially degrading to caucasian-Americans, based on the fact that it is stereo-typical that caucasian women are infatuated with African-American men, by showing him walk into a room occupied by only caucasian women, and they all suddenly remove their panties.”
The people go on and on like this. They hate the word “shit,” they hate the term “cracker,” they hate that Morty of Rick and Morty almost got raped in the bathroom, they even hate the commercials – including a Navy recruitment ad! One person even simply said, “Too offensive Adult Swim has gone too far. They need to back off some.”
But before I leave you (and again, you really should read all of them) I want to share one last complaint. And this dude went the complete opposite way as everyone else:
Re: all of them –
“STOP CENSORING TV SHOWS, IT’S UNLAWFUL AND A VIOLATION OF THE CONSTITUTION, PARTICULARLY THE 1ST AMMENDMENT IN THE BILL OF RIGHTS. i shouldn’t expect to hear bleeps while watching a show on Adult Swim.”

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
