Kirby breaks his hand which means he can’t draw which makes him furious…FURIOUS!

We start this story BEFORE the arm breaks as Kirby is trying to just eat his pancakes when Eli and Fish come on over to help work on a science project. The trio decide to simultaneously jump off a trampoline and high-five which causes the hand break so now Kirby can’t draw and Eli/Fish need a replacement for Kirby. After careful research, Eli and Fish select a kid-named Bobby as their new science team partner.

Kirby’s cartoons are causing his arm to go out of his control, but at least his science teacher seems to be cool with him not being able to do the project. Meanwhile, Dawn thinks the world is against her, but that doesn’t seem to be the case because she’s been having a lot of luck thrown her way. She figures it has something to do with Kirby’s broken hand and it’s her time to shine as the top Buckets.

Shit’s starting to get weird, too. Kirby is clearly becoming a schizo and Dawn is reaping the benefits as she becomes the most popular kid at school AND at home. Mom and Dad even punish Kirby after he flips out during a game of Pictionary, and make him go to his room. As Kirby heads in to do his time, he runs into an odd-fellow…Belinda.

Our Take

Belinda and Kirby want to make things right with the world, so Belinda starts training Kirby how to draw with his left hand. Soon, Kirby gets really good and before you know it, Dawn is starting to embarrass herself really bad. Because of his new found power, Kirby decides to get back in on the science project, but when demo time comes all three of the team-mates break their hands.

This week’s episode was good, but could’ve been great had the third act not been a disaster. Dawn’s puke is the worst effort I’ve ever seen from a special effects department in trying to portray vomit. The Chadwin song was god-awful, and I really needed to wash my ears out with soap after listening to it. The science project plot just seemed thrown in there and the ‘Bobby’ kid looked like the long lost fifth member of Frank Valli and the Four Seasons.

There were some highlights to be had however. Kirby going ballistic was entertaining and Dawn basking in her new found powers was a sight to behold. Kudos to Titmouse for producing cartoon efforts that would match Kirby’s movements which I’m guessing was a lot harder than it looked. Unfortunately, all of the good was mangled at the end to the point of absurd and as such I think the writing needs to get a grip when it wants to close out episodes.
