FX cancels ‘Chozen’

 

It seems like FX just can NOT nail that second animated series to backup Archer. They tried with Unsupervised to no avail and now FX has announced the cancellation of Chozen after only one season on FX according to Deadline.com.

The series was kind of shuffled up from the start as Chozen was set to premier on the FXX network only for FX to team it up with Archer on Monday Nights. Ordinarily that doesn’t sound like a death nail, but going up against the best new animated series on television in Rick and Morty certainly didn’t help.

As mentioned earlier, FX hasn’t had much luck in teaming up another animated series with Archer and really the only new one left in development is the Seth Rogen series Bigfoot which has yet to get a pickup. Thankfully, Archer is doing just fine as we’ve got seasons six and seven currently in production, plus a new syndication deal with Comedy Central which goes into effect in 2015.
