FX issues updates on ‘Chozen’ and ‘Simpsons’ to FXX
Upfronts season is in full swing and FX came equipped to dish out the big announcements. For starters, CEO John Landgraf wants to increase the number of original shows in development from 11 to 20 for both FX AND FXX which hopefully means we are getting fresh animated fair to pair up with Archer.
Unfortunately, John was not very forthcoming about the future of freshman series Chozen but did say that announcements about the franchise is coming soon. That said, it’s worth noting that although the overnight ratings for Chozen haven’t been great (and going up against stalwart Rick and Morty in the same hour isn’t helping) that John has been touting the success of DVR numbers for other franchises, so maybe he knows something we don’t in terms of how many people are actually watching Chozen live versus on DVR.
Another HUGE announcement, was that The Simpsons will kick off on FXX in August with a 12-day marathon of nothing but the legendary animated series which will evidently destroy television marathon records (though I’m sure A&E will do its best to plaster its entire summer with Storage Wars reruns).
So yea, be prepared to not go to the beach for almost two weeks straight come this August.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
