Review: Mickey Mouse Shorts “Panda Monium”

What happens when you mix an old Mickey Mouse design, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, and what looks like a Ren and Stimpy-esque animation? Jump in and find out!

This short has a very Mists of Pandaria feel to it. It has an old-style Mickey walking through a Chinese zoo, where he takes pictures of many of the animals. He stumbles onto the panda pen. In what feels in the vein of Ren and Stimpy, Mickey is put through the wringer. He is attacked by monkeys, fell down a giraffe, and got crushed by a panda. All of this was to get a picture of a baby panda. In the end, the panda gets the camera and takes a picture of Mickey with the big panda.

For my first short, this was pretty good. I know there was a bunch of fervor recently when Disney revealed the new design for Mickey, I don’t know why. I actually like it. The modern take on the classic Mickey is different, as well as the lack of the shrill screech he has had over the last however many years.
