”Fugget About” this Behind-the-Scenes featurette!
For the first time in months, the folks behind Canada’s latest and greatest animated series have uploaded another behind the scenes video on their YouTube channel. This time around, creators Nicholas Tabarrok and Willem Wennekers talk about the show’s creation, and the process they went through to bring the series into fruition.
Wennekers says the main concept was drawn (no pun intended) from The Sopranos, which was a popular series during Fugget About It’s inception. One of the interesting things about this behind the scenes look is a shot of the original five-minute Fugget About Itshort, which Tabarrok and Wennekers had developed and pitched to Teletoon.
There’s also a look at season one’s guests voices – Andrea Martin as Cookie’s guidance counselor, the Virgin Mary, and Jason Jones as the reanimated Al Capone.
The show has come a long way since teaming up with 9 Story Entertainment and winning Teletoon at Night’s Pilot Project, back in December 2010. Fugget About It was even renewed for a second season last June, before the series had premiered.
The sophomore season is currently in production, and you can find more of season one’s behind the scenes features here.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
