REVIEW: CRASH AND BERNSTEIN “CRASH CRUSH”

Spoilers Below

Its Jasmine’s birthday and during a puppet show we are introduced a handy named Lola. This gets the attention of Crash of whom instantly falls for the stuffed lady even though she isn’t lifelike similar to him.  After the show, we meet the puppeteer Ballarney and after getting his check, Crash talks him up about Lola, and even offers a free meal if he can get the hook up. Later on with Jasmine opening her presents that she doesn’t even like, Crash warns everyone to stay off the phone as he is expecting a call from Lola, even pushing off some rock climbing with Wyatt. After breaking up with Princess Glitter Crash gets a call from Lola, even after Wyatt’s attempts at explaining that she isn’t real, and agrees to meet her down at the arcade.

After a spicy meal, Crash has to break some unfortunate news to Wyatt whilst rock-climbing….Lola wants no part of Wyatt during her relationship with Crash. Wyatt goes down to the arcade to give Lola and her puppeteer a piece of his mind which causes Crash to get in the middle. Its here we are introduced to Lola’s husband whom together with Crash convince Lola to beat the shit out of her puppeteer causing him to quit and proving to Crash that she wasn’t real and he can’t make her real. Fortunately, Princess comes back into the picture, but is she buying it??

One of the things I’ve been noticing about the show is the growth of Landry Bender as Cleo. She seems so comfortable in front of the camera and I think she has a long and prosperous future in acting, no matter what she does. She’s adorable and she works so well opposite anyone that she sometimes carries whatever plot device she is a part of. For example, I wasn’t crazy about the B-plot with Jasmine and Mel, but with Cleo in the fold the plot was a lot more legit than it would have been if she weren’t there. Also, I really enjoyed another character opposite Crash and I hope this is something we see more of because I think Crash would be even better with additional characters filled with stuffing. I also was happy as hell to not see Aaron Landon at the arcade, but I certainly didn’t buy Wyatt rock climbing in some mountains in a forest. I’m sorry, I call complete bullshit on that! That said, this episode was pretty funny and I think its cast is helping it go places.
