Inspired by his new “Come in We’re open sign” Peter opens up his house and services for sale. Unfortunately, his business is unlicensed so the government shuts him down and beats the shit out of him because the government knows karate. To help drown his sorrows Peter hangs out at the bar with Quagmire and overhears a news story about the Tea Party’s “Less Government” slogan and as such is inspired to join their cause. He sets off to go to a big rally being put together by town chapter president Joe “The Normal Guy” who really turns out to be Lois’ dad Carter Pewterschmidt who convinces Peter to join the Tea Party cause to help spread their word of Anti-Socialism.

Eventually, Peter starts in on a calling campaign to spread the word about bringing down the government and impressively enough he puts together a rather large angry mob that successfully does so. Yep, that’s right, Peter led a cause that convinced Mayor Adam West to disband the government completely and go home. Of course all chaos ensues as pollution fills the skies, anchormen are robbing anchor ladies, people are looting in the streets, and all of the city’s basic needs get shut down like sanitation, plumbing, and electricity.  As a result, Peter decides to speak to his angry mob once more and pretty much pitch them that having a government is a good idea and they should go back to that.

I think more so than the actual plot of getting rid of the government is all the little things that are dotted that come out of nowhere. For one, Stewie just chimes in every once in a while some random shit that is just funny as hell, and of course any town mob is going to have its fair share of cameo characters that we haven’t seen in like forever. I mean, when was the last time Herbert the Pervert was around? Or the Lemon Pledge lady?  They were all over the place and really was fun being like “Hey there’s that guy, annnnnd that guy!” Also, the cutaways were pretty awesome today, what with the sign stick figures coming to life, the walking fish, and others that had me in complete stitches the entire time. The only problem I had with this week’s episode is that I thought Carter would have been more involved with the plot in the end there as I thought the banter between him and Peter to kick off the episode was really (and usually is) good but then he just kind of disappears. Probably a very minor gripe for an overall solid outing of Family Guy.
